Going beyond scheme, a consistent concern for Peter Sirmon has been finding pass rushers who can win one-on-one matchups on obvious passing downs.  That’s a hard-to-find skill and one that is far less about experience and technique and far more about length, flexibility and raw athleticism, and power. In Cal’s 3-4 or 2-4-5 alignment, the principal responsibility for generating a pass rush will fall on the Bears’ OLB unit.
