New Bears on the Block: Cal Frosh RB Jaivian Thomas

Former McClymonds running back Jaivian Thomas‍ grew up in the shadow of Memorial Stadium as a kid, never imagining a future in collegiate football.

"I heard about Cal a lot as a kid," Thomas said. "As a kid, I wasn't really a football guy, more of a basketball guy. About like age 12, I really got into football, but I didn't think I would really get this far.

“My first Cal game, I believe I was about 10. I got into track my freshman year of high school.
