Following Cal’s season-opening 58-21 victory over North Texas, Cal OL Brian Driscoll earned Pac-12 Offensive Lineman of the Week.

OFFENSIVE LINE:  Brian Driscoll, RS Jr., LG/C, California (San Diego, Calif.)

Started at left guard before moving to center after starter Matthew Cindric left the game with an injury in Cal's 58-21 season-opening win at North Texas.

Would end up playing 83 snaps in the contest and was Cal's highest-graded offense lineman for a unit that did not allow a sack.

Cal's 58 points were its most since a 73-14 win over Grambling State to open the 2015 campaign, while its 669 yards of total offense were its most ever in a road game, the fifth-most in school history, and most in a game since Cal registered 680 in a 48-46 home victory over Arizona State in 2015.

Cal finished with 357 yards rushing and 312 yards passing to mark only the second time in school history Cal has had at least 312 yards both rushing and passing.

After Week 1 games, Cal is fourth in the nation in total offense (669.0 ypg) and rushing offense (357.0 ypg), as well as eighth in scoring offense (58.0 ppg).

First Cal player to win Pac-12 Offensive Lineman of the Week since Ben Coleman in Week 4 of last season.

Also nominated: Jake Levengood, C, Oregon State; Josh Conerly Jr., LT, Oregon; Keaton Bills, LG, Utah; Matteo Mele, C, Washington; Fa'allili Fa'amoe, RT, Washington State; Jonah Monheim, LT, USC; Wendell Moe, LG, Arizona; Connor McLaughlin, RT, Stanford; Leif Fautanu, C, Arizona State

Awesome. Well deserved recognition. Also great that the entire line played so well. What a difference a year (and a new coach and a few new players) can make.
