The Sam Jackson era never really materialized in Berkeley.  The explosive athlete struggled to make the game slow down for him, was not a consistently good decision-maker/reader of defenses and got injured in the first game.  Halfway through fall camp, he started to make more mistakes and created a three-way competition that went down to the week prior to UNT before things got settled.
