Bears Pull in Productive Colorado State LB Buom Jock From Portal
The Bears picked up their first linebacker portal transfer add today with the commitment of Colorado State sophomore LB Buom Jock this morning.
The soph linebacker has been a force for the Rams in his two-year career in Fort Collins, racking up 34 tackles as a true frosh last year and following up with 100 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 interception and 3 passes defended this season in his second season.
Jock was high school teammates with Cal receiver Jaiven Plummer at Episcopal High School in Virginia as a prep where he was a three-sport letterman, including basketball and track.
On the gridiron, Jock had 54 receptions for 814 yards and nine touchdowns on offense along with
52 tackles and four interceptions on D. In hoops, Jock averaged 16.7 points per game on the basketball team as a junior for Episcopal. He had offers from Boston College and Dartmouth before choosing Colorado State in 2022.
Also during his time in Minnesota, Jock played basketball against future Cal hoopster B.J. Omot.
Jock becomes the Bears’ tenth portal commit of the 2025 portal class.
