Incoming California freshman Aliyahna “Puff” Morris has been selected to play in the 2025 McDonald’s All-American Game as announced by the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee on Monday. Morris, the 24th-ranked high school player in the country according to ESPN, is part of the California Golden Bears’ 22nd-ranked 2025 recruiting class and is the first Cal McDonald’s All-American since Kristine Anigwe made the team in 2015. This year’s McDonald’s All-American Game will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on April 1 at 3 p.m. PT and will be televised on ESPN2.

The 2025 rosters were based on competitive criteria and chosen from a list of several hundred nominees by some of the nation’s top analysts, prep scouts, media and coaches. The final roster is comprised of the top 24 elite girls high school players from across the country.

Morris, a senior playing for Etiwanda High School out of Rancho Cucamonga, is currently averaging 25.4 points, 3.6 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 3.1 steals per game. In last week’s nationally televised Hoophall Classic, she helped power Etiwanda past Incarnate Word, which was on a nation-leading 141-game winning streak. In that game, Morris finished with 26 points, five rebounds and four assists on her way to being named to the Hoophall Classic’s All-Showcase Team.

Morris’ long list of accolades includes being named a three-time Cal Hi Sports State Player of the Year, a three-time CIF All-State selection and a two-time MaxPreps Second-Team All-America selection.

“Puff has continued to show that she is a proven leader and winner,” Cal head coach Charmin Smith said. “She brings toughness to both ends of the court and knows what it takes to elevate those around her. Puff is a complete player that can defend at a high level and be a bucket maker in crunch-time situations. She is extremely deserving of making this year’s McDonald’s All-American Game and I can’t wait for her to become a part of our C.I.R.C.L.E.”

ESPNW ranking: 24
Morris is a stocky, quiet, lead-by-example point guard. She goes about her business without trying to draw a lot of attention -- just does what it takes to win. She sets the tone with consistent ball pressure defensively and sets the table for teammates to make plays. Over time, Morris improved her long-range shooting, and her pull-up has always been a nice weapon, making her floor game much more efficient. She won an EYBL championship with the Cal Sparks and Etiwanda teammate Grace Knox in 2023 as well as multiple CIF state championships.
