ATLANTA (AP) – Baye Ndongo tipped in a last-second shot from Naithan George to give Georgia Tech a 90-88 overtime win over California on Saturday.

Mady Sissoko dunked an alley-oop pass from DJ Campbell to give Cal (12-14, 5-10 ACC) an 88-86 lead with 1:35 left in overtime but Ndongo hit a jumper to tie the game with :43 left. With time running out, George drove the lane for a contested layup that Rytis Petraitis got a hand on. In space behind the defenders Ndongo elevated and tipped in the miss for the win.

Ndongo also tipped in a George shot blocked by Sissoko in the final minute of regulation to give the Yellow Jackets a 79-77 lead with :54 left before Andrej Stojakovic scored at the basket to tie the game with :41 remaining and force the extra period after the Bears' Jeremiah Wilkinson misfired on a jumper in the closing seconds.

Ndongo finished with a career-high 26 points and 13 rebounds and George had 26 points and eight assists to lead Georgia Tech (13-13, 7-8). Duncan Powell added 19 points and six boards.

Wilkinson – a native of Powder Springs, Georgia, located roughly 20 miles west of Atlanta – hit 4 of 7 from behind the arc and scored 25 points to lead the Golden Bears. Stojakovic was 4 of 7 from deep and added 22 points, his 10th 20-point effort of the season and first since Jan. 11. Sissoko posted 10 points and 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season while Petraitis (12 points) and Campbell (10) rounded out Cal’s five double-figure scorers.

The teams played for the first time in Atlanta. The Bears won three previous meetings, all of them played in the state of California.

Like he projected last year's team to have the largest turnaround in NCAA history! Woohoo! Go Hype!

Five more games to go - can they reach 14 wins? Notre Dame and Boston College present the best opportunities, although Notre Dame is on the road. That Notre Dame game might determine if they qualify for the ACC tournament.

This was such a sad game, one that was there for the taking for the long flight back. Some late thoughts:

--Why play behind GT Center Ndongo with DJ Campbell a guard? That was insanity.

--While we are great at offensive rebounding, why are we so bad at defensive rebounding? Is it the coaching?

--JB's minutes were reduced and I think that's a good thing. But he still went 0-6 from the field. I'm sure he's a good kid, but basically playing him is killing us. Just have DJ, JW and/or AS bring the ball up and initiate the offense. Not only has JB played way too many minutes, he's had the ball way too much.
