Bears Add an Important Piece in Delaware Forward John Camden
The Bears picked up a big piece from the portal this weekend, adding Delaware forward John Camden to their 2025 portal class.
The 6-8/220 senior gives the Bears a bigger player with elite perimeter skills with his ability to stretch the defense and his long range precision after having a breakthrough junior season for Delaware, averaging 16.8 points and 5.5 rebounds for the Blue Hens, including shining against Delaware’s best competion with 35 points on 8-of-11 3 point shooting in a loss to 31-5 Big East champ St. John’s. Camden shot 41.6% from 3 for the season and earned 2nd team All-Conference.
Camden originally signed with Memphis as a 6-7/180 4 star prep from Brewster Academy before transferring to Virginia Tech as a soph. At Delaware, he came into his own after getting bigger and stronger in his breakout third season.
Camden will join fellow portal transfers Loyola-Maryland center Milos Ilic, Michigan guard Justin Pippen, Campbell guard Nolan Dorsey, GCU forward Sammie Yeanay and Virginia point guard Dai Dai Ames.
The Bears beat out Purdue, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, SMU and more for Camdem’s commitment.
