The Bears picked up speedy South Dakota wide receiver Quaron Adams‍ through the portal during his official visit to Cal this weekend. The 5’7/175 Adams was a 3 star prospect out of Chandler High School in Arizona where he compiled 64 catches for 845 yards and 6 TDs before signing with Iowa State over Cal, Arizona, ASU, Oregon and more where he redshirted before transferring to South Daktota.

At South Dakota as a redshirt frosh, Adams averaged a stellar 30 yards per catch with 18 catches, 543 yards, 5 TDs to go with a 70 yard rushing TD in 2024.

Stay tuned for more Cal football portal recruiting action to come!

Have to admit that clip was a little reminiscent of Desean in the open field.

I may have missed it, but I've never seen Desean stopped one-on-one in the open field.

It was posted elsewhere that he ran a 10.49 100 meters as a hs freshman. Dude can fly.

Finally, some good news for a change. Let's roll with the guys who want to be here.

Can't have too much speed!

Our roster is looking more suitable to a Rolovich offense than a Harsin offense.

I have liked home run hitters in your lineup. Big plays are crucial for an offense. And forces the defense to account for these players. But Cal also needs a consistent WR1 that gets the big first down catch. A go to in the red zone, catch balls in traffic, be willing to run the tough inside routes.

On this team I do not see that guy. Grizzell may be the closest. And with Endries gone that role increases in value. I like Adams but somehow they need a WR1. Either developed from within or acquired via the portal.

De Jesus is speedy. James won state with a 10.4 100. Rogers and Plummer are very fast with 10.7 100s.

Agree but yeah Desean was smooth and you rarely felt like he even hit top gear. BUT I am not complaining about this young man, he can fly and makes good simple cuts in the not-as-open-as-we-think field. We all have to stop hanging our heads with the player movement and get with the game at hand, bring in our own new players while we get more money into the program and get rid of dead weight for gods sakes.
