Utah Soph Portal CB Quimari Shemwell Joins Bears

The Bears continued their solid spring portal recruiting efforts with the commitment of sophomore Utah cornerback Quimari Shemwell today.

The 5’11/170 CB was a 3 star prospect out of Long Beach Poly who put up 38 tackles, 6 TFL, 2 forced fumbles, 11 PBU, 4 INT and 1 sack as a senior in 2023. The Utes beat out Arizona, WSU, SDSU and more for Shemwell’s services as a prep.

As a frosh at Utah, in 2024, Shemwell had 1 assisted tackle vs Colorado while playing in a backup role and special teams and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining along with a redshirt season.
