We’re back with Friday Night Lights, as a few prospects got an early start to their season while most had their first game.
Here’s a look at how Cal’s 2026 commits and their teams performed last weekend:
Camron Brooks – 2026 DE from Thomasville, GA. Brooks and Thomas County Central were unstoppable in a 79–14 rout of Florida State University High School on August 29. Brooks showed why Cal targeted him early, tallying a sack, two quarterback hurries, and a tackle as the Yellow Jackets buried the Seminoles. His disruptive edge play forced hurried throws all night long. Thomas County Central turns to a rivalry showdown against Thomasville next on 09/05.
Tyree Sams – 2026 WR from Fresno, CA. Sams was electric in Clovis North’s nailbiting 38–34 win over Redwood on August 29. He racked up 4 receptions for 87 yards and added big plays in the return game (90 kick return yards and 59 punt return yards), finishing with 236 all-purpose yards. Sams gave the Broncos a spark whenever they needed a play, flashing the speed and elusiveness. Clovis North will now regroup before facing Central Valley Christian on September 12.
Victor Santino – 2026 RB from Inglewood, CA. Santino did not have final stats posted for the tough loss against St Louis 34-27, but Santino remains the workhorse back expected to carry the load this fall. With his blend of balance and burst, he should be featured heavily when Bishop Montgomery looks to bounce back against Leuzinger on 09/05.
Taimane Purcell – 2026 TE from Honolulu, HI. Purcell has been showing flashes of potential for the Warriors this early season. Although his stats are still pending from the team’s 48-21 loss to West Linn, Purcell has recorded 1 reception for 30 yards across three games so far. As the season continues, he will look to build on his early contributions and make a bigger impact in the passing game. The Warriors are set to return to action on 09/05, giving Purcell another opportunity to showcase his skills on the field.
Kamo'i Huihui-White – 2026 OL from Honolulu, HI. St. Louis came out on top in their matchup against Bishop Montgomery, securing a 34-27 victory. The Crusaders’ offense was productive, totaling 333 yards and averaging an impressive 9.9 yards per rush. Huihui-White played a key role in the win, helping St. Louis control the game in the trenches. The team will aim to carry this momentum into their next contest against Mililani on 09/06.
Elisha Faamatuainu – 2026 OL. Murrieta Valley faced a challenging matchup against Servite on Saturday, falling 56-35. Faamatuainu anchored the offensive line, contributing to 145 rushing yards and helping generate 262 passing yards for the team. While the loss was a setback, Faamatuainu and the team will have a bye week to regroup and prepare for their next contest against Murrieta Mesa on 09/12.
Jaxon Pyatt – 2026 LB. Pyatt and Arvada West were dominant in their 56-0 shutout victory over Mountain Range, delivering a performance that left little doubt about their control of the game. Pyatt was a standout on defense, making a significant impact with 5 total tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and a sack, showcasing both skill and relentless effort. With this commanding win under their belt, Arvada West looks to maintain their momentum as they take on Fairview on 09/05.
Artem Korchagin – 2026 OL. Korchagin, alongside teammate Camron Brooks, played a key role in paving the way for Yellow Jackets’ dominant 79-14 win over Florida State High School. Korchagin’s blocking opened up lanes for the running backs and provided solid protection for the quarterback, contributing to an impressive 234 rushing yards and 314 passing yards. With three games and three victories already this season, the Yellow Jackets will face a stiffer challenge as they take on Thomasville on 09/05.
Jayden Crowder – 2026 CB. Crowder made a significant impact in the secondary during the Warriors’ 33-27 victory over Centennial, showcasing his defensive skills and playmaking ability. He recorded 2 tackles, 3 pass deflections, and an interception, highlighting both his ball-hawking instincts and lockdown coverage. Crowder and the team now turn their attention to their next challenge, facing Bingham on 09/06.
EJ Morgan – 2026 WR. Morgan and his squad came up short in their matchup against a strong Grant High School team, falling 42-26. Despite the loss, Morgan had a solid outing, recording 5 receptions for 61 yards, averaging 12.2 yards per catch, and showing his ability to make plays in the passing game. Central East will look to bounce back and return to the win column when they face Turlock on 09/05.
Nemyah Telona – 2026 DT. Telona stats are still pending in the defensive battle against Lakeland on Saturday. De La Salle ended up winning the slug fest 10-6 keeping them in the Top 10 in California and on the fringe of the Top 25 nationally. The squad will be back in action on 09/06 against Junipero Serra.
Luca Wolf – 2026 TE. No individual stats were posted for Wolf in NFL Academy’s matchup against Edgewater (FL), as the team struggled to keep pace in a 42-7 loss. Despite the setback, the Academy will have the week off to regroup and recover as they travel back, preparing for their next contest against Düsseldorf on September 13th.
Ernest Nunley – 2026 CB. Nunley’s ball-hawking instincts were on full display, helping Western secure a 27-20 victory over Villa Park. Nunley made a game-changing impact with 3 interceptions, 1 pass deflection, and 3 total tackles, proving to be a key factor in the team’s defensive success. Western’s secondary looks poised to make another major impact as they take on Huntington Beach on September 4th.
