Cal Hopes Rutherford Will Follow In Father's Footsteps

As the son of a former Golden Bear, 2019 four-star defensive back Isaiah Rutherford has a special connection with Cal football.

The name Rutherford probably brings back memories for Cal football fans. Reynard Rutherford rushed for 2,256 yards and 13 touchdowns at Cal in the early 1990s. Now his son Isaiah Rutherford‍ has a Cal offer of his own.

"I've been a Cal Bears fan forever," the younger Rutherford smiled. "I've been to a lot of games.”

Rutherford is a four-star defensive back at Jesuit High School (Carmichael, CA).
