Come watch the Bears take on #19 Vanderbilt Monday morning at Cali's Sports Bar & Kitchen at 2367 Telegraph Ave in Berkeley. Students get free tickets to the men's season opener Monday night vs Cal State Bakersfield.

The California women's basketball team has been invited to the Oui-Play Paris 2025 where it will take on Vanderbilt to open the 2025-26 season on Monday, Nov. 3 at the Adidas Arena in Paris. One of the premiere events in college women's basketball, Oui-Play will be a doubleheader that will also feature Duke facing Baylor in the second matchup. Exact game times and television broadcast designation will be announced at a later date.

"I'm honored to be invited to play in the Oui-Play event and have an opportunity to compete in such a prestigious setting," Cal head coach Charmin Smith said. "It's a testament to how far this program has come during my time here and I'm excited to showcase the Bears on an international stage. It gives us a chance to go against some really high-level competition and provide a bonding experience for a team full of fresh new faces."

The Golden Bears and Commodores will be meeting for the fifth time, with the all-time series tied at two wins each. The Bears were victorious 67-59 in the last meeting on Dec. 2, 2007, in the Contra Costa Times Classic championship game, which was played at Cal.

Cal enters the 2025-26 season coming off one of the best seasons in the program's recent history. Last year, the Golden Bears earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018-19, won 25 games for the first time since 2012-13, maintained an Associated Press Top 25 ranking for eight straight weeks (going as high as No. 18), set a program record for home wins in a season (16), going 16-1 at Haas Pavilion, defeated multiple ranked teams and advanced to the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament.
