It’s week two of the playoffs and nine of Cal’s 2026 commits were still in action last weekend.
Taimane Purcell – 2026 TE from Kamehameha (HI). Purcell and the Warrior come out with a win in the first round over Kapolei, 31-10. Purcell put a stamp on the game doing it all with 2 rushes for 32 yards, 4 receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown, 1 tackle, 1 tackle for a loss, and 1 sack on the game. Next up for the Warriors they have Campbell after a bye week on 12/5.
Elisha Faamatuainu – 2026 OL from Murrieta Valley (CA). The Nighthawks pulled ahead early but could not hold onto the lead as their season comes to an end with the 23-10 loss. Faamatuainu assisted in a hard-nosed running team as they averaged 258 rushing yards a game. The offense finished averaging 435 yards per game total.
Jaxon Pyatt – 2026 LB from Arvada West (CO). The Wildcats had the win slip away in a tough loss against Mountain Vista, 36-21. Pyatt left it all out on the field with 8 tackles and .5 tackles for a loss. Pyatt finishes his career with 110 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 4 sacks and an interception.
EJ Morgan – 2026 WR from Central East (Fresno, CA). The Bengals high power offense continues to overwhelm their opponents as they take down Clovis in the CIF Central Section Division I-AA football championship, 70-35. Morgan only need to have 2 receptions to put up 70 yards and 2 touchdowns on the impressive offensive night. Morgan finished his season with 55 receptions, 803 yards and 8 touchdowns. Congrats EJ!
Nemyah Telona – 2026 DT from De La Salle (CA). The Spartans won in a close game over Pittsburg, 24-17. Telona finished the night with 1 tackle. The Spartans next opponent is TBD.
Esaiah Wong – 2026 OL from Kailua (Kailua, HI). The Surfriders dominated first round over Konawaena, 24-7. Wong and the OL assisted with 136 passing and 123 rushing yards on the night as they advance on. The Surfriders will take on Kapa’a on 11/28.
Kingston Schirmer – 2026 DT from Centennial (CA). The Huskies won one of the better games of the season taking down Mater Dei, 28-27. Schirmers stats have not been updated on the exciting win. The Huskies go up against Santa Margarita in the championship game on 11/28.
Jonathan McKinley – 2026 LB from Centennial (CA). The Huskies won again keeping their hot streak going as they edged on national power house Mater Dei, 28-27. McKinleys stats were not uploaded. The red hot Huskies are onto the championship game against Santa Margarita on 11/28.
Frank Fanua – 2026 DT/G from Mount Miguel (CA). Fanua and the OL could not get it done as their season came to an end against Granite Hills, 52-30. Fanua assisted in the offense averaging 231 passing and 133 rushing yards a game.
