The Bears grabbed one of their big CB targets in the portal with today’s commitment from Georgia Bulldogs junior cornerback Daniel Harris‍.

As a junior in 2025, the 6-2185 Harris played in 13 games, starting in four including the SEC Championship game and College Football Playoff semifinal, adding 22 tackles and three pass breakups on the season.

Rated a 4 star prospect out of Gulliver Prep High School in Miami, Harris had 49 tackles, one TFL, two INT and a pass break up along with 93 kickoff return yards as a senior. He was also rated the #16 cornerback prospect and #157 overall nationally as a senior by 247. Harris also ran track in high school, running a 10.74 100m as a sophomore in 2021, taking 6th and the 200m and 8th in the 100m in the Florida state championships.

Harris chose the Bulldogs over Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, Miami and more.

Harris joins fellow cornerback Marquis Groves-Killebrew‍ (Miss St) along with safeties Kingston Lopa‍ (Oregon) and Michael Hurst Jr‍ (NAU), running backs Adam Mohammed‍ (UW), Carter Vargas‍ (UC Davis) and Ashton Emory‍, WRs Cooper Perry‍ (Oregon), Ian Strong‍ (Rutgers) and Chase Hendricks‍ (Ohio), tight end Dorian Thomas‍, OTs Jimothy Lewis‍ (Mississippi State), Jacob Arop‍ (South Dakota) and Mykeal Rabess‍ (FIU), OG Kahlee Tafai‍, edge Solomon Williams‍, DL Justin Beadles‍ (Louisville) and Ashun Shepphard‍ (Miss St) and LB Tristan Jernigan‍ in the Bears 2026 transfer portal class.

This portal class is absolutely bonkers. What a remarkable snowball effect. The fact that we're pulling so many athletes away from the SEC is fascinating. I lived in the South for one year, couldn't wait to get back to the West. You can read between the lines, but on the whole, life is better here. Broader culture, more profound intellectual aspects, superior natural environment, etc.
