Welcome back to the Bay, Jordan! We're glad you're choosing Cal!
GO BEARS!
The Bears added another portal piece today with the commitment of University of Georgia guard Jordan Ross.
The 6-3/195 junior guard originally committed to St. Mary’s College after a strong prep career as a 4 star recruit where he played 6 minutes per game as a true frosh -the only true frosh to see playing time - then averaged 8.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists as a starter in 2024-25 for the Gaels. He was part of back-to-back WCC Championship teams at Saint Mary's in 2024 & 2025. He chose the Gaels over DePaul, Iowa State, Illinois and Missouri before eventually transferring to Georgia.
Ross transferred to Georgia after his soph season, where he played in 32 of 33 games, including 25 starts and put up 6.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 20.9 minutes of action per game. He had double-digit scoring efforts in eight games, including a season-high 15 against Western Carolina and had a team-leading 2.55 assist-to-turnover ratio, including a more impressive 3.45 (38-to-11) in SEC action.
As a 4 star recruit in the Class of 2023, Ross was a four-year high school starter who played at Pleasant Grove High School before moving on to elite prep programs Link Academy and AZ Compass Prep.
After his first two seasons at Pleasant Grove, where he earned honorable mention all-state as a soph, Ross transferred to Link Academy in Branson, Missouri for his junior season, competing against some of the top talent in the country. He helped Link Academy reach the finals at the 2022 Geico High School National Championship, losing to Montverde Academy in the final. The Lions finished the season 33-2 and were ranked No. 3 in USA Today's final Super 25 boys' basketball poll for the 2021-22 season.

For his senior season, Ross moved to Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona who he also helped lead to the finals at the 2022 Geico High School National Championship. He also played in the Nike EYBL Scholastic League and was a key contributor.
Ross joins portal commits Michael Cooper (Wright State guard), fellow Georgia SF Jake Wilkins, Pitt guard/wing Nojus Indrusaitis and prep recruits SG Dionycius Bakare and center Nicolas Mitrovic.

Looks like a great addition. From the highlight video, I like how he eats up a lot of space and blows by defenders with his quick first step. He also has good body control and can score with the left or right hand.
I think he and TT Carr will make a great tandem in the backcourt.
Welcome to Cal, Jordan!

interesting that both Ross and Wilkins transfers to Cal from Georgia and last year Wilkinson transferred from Cal to GA ( and now off to Ark)

My guess is based on size it won't be a tandem but more like a rotation.

Agreed. TT is a more natural facilitator while Ross is a more natural slasher/scorer.
I can see Ross playing a bit more with Cooper since he's a combo guard while TT plays more with Nojus & Ruff.
A big differentiator might be who shoots better.
Both have been lower volume 3 pt shooters but 29% career for Ross and 26% for TT would really hamper Cal's offense if the accuracy doesn't improve and they combine for 50+ mins a game.

And now apparently TT has hit the Portal.
