Cal Edges, OLB Preview: Solomon Williams is Leading the Way

Cal head coach Tosh Lupoi, previously Oregon’s defensive coordinator, brought over his defensive system from Eugene and requires outside linebackers and defensive ends to help dominate the line of scrimmage.

Similar to the interior defensive line, the Golden Bears’ ability to set the edge will largely rest on the shoulders of multiple transfer portal acquisitions.

The edge, however, is one of Cal’s areas of uncertainty entering Week 1 against UCLA and beyond.
