With the commitment of 6-4/240 Livermore High School tight end Bradley Archer, the Bears capped off a highly-productive long weekend garnering five commitments for the 2019 class.

"I started really following the program last year but being so close, I've sort of always been around it," said Archer after his offer recently.

"I loved it on my visits. I loved all the energy. I love how the coaches go about things and the job Coach Wilcox is doing there."

As a junior, Archer had 34 receptions for 340 yards and four touchdowns. He also plays 3rd base for the Cowboys baseball program, as well.

A few weeks ago, Archer teamed with fellow KT Prep 7 on 7 teammate and Cal recruit Tristan Sinclair, winning the POF bestofthestates NorCal Qualifying Tournament then followed up last weekend, winning the NorCal Passing Down Regional Championship.

"Bradley has the frame that a lot of people look for in a prep tight end," said KT Prep coach Nate Kenion, who also owns Kenion Training, working with Sinclair and many other Bay Area athletes.

"He'll only continue to get bigger. For his size, he also moves really well, in the 4.7-4.8 range."

Should a local package deal with Sinclair occur, it would certainly be a popular move with Cal fans.

One of the elements Archer looked for in a program is fit and comfort level and the Bears score high marks in both categories.

"Everyone around there seem to have a good relationship with each other and the coaches. And Coach Wilcox -I really like him. He's super nice and super modest."

Till now, Archer's been a fairly consistent presence around the program in recent months and he doesn't intend to change that pattern anytime soon.

The 3 star TE was on campus again Wednesday the prior week, and had more glowing words about the place after the visit.

“I love it. That was the fifth or sixth time I have been there and it gets better every time,” Archer said . “I love all the coaches, I love Berkeley and the city. It’s really unique. I love the fact that I would be able to get a great education.”

Go Cowboys! As a Livermore High alum I always want to see anyone from there succeed. I had high hopes for Demariay Drew, but even though things didn't work out as planned on the field, hopefully his experience at Cal will enable him to be successful in life.

Drew was a hard hitter on the field & off it as well.
