Tuioti Talks Cal D-Line

After making the switch from OLB/DE coach to coaching the full defensive line, 2nd year Cal DL coach Tony Tuioti talks about last season's defensive improvements and assesses the Bear DL heading into fall camp and the 2018 season.

After a horrendous stretch of defense in the prior three seasons, Cal's 2017 run defense rose to a respectable sixth in the Pac-12,  giving up an average of 164 rushing yards per game. In 2016, the Bears finished dead last in rush D, giving up an attrocious 272 yards per game.

The Bears' D also stepped up the pass rush pressure, going from 18 sacks in 2016 to 28 last season.
