Tuioti Talks Cal D-Line

July 24, 2018

After a horrendous stretch of defense in the prior three seasons, Cal's 2017 run defense rose to a respectable sixth in the Pac-12,  giving up an average of 164 rushing yards per game. In 2016, the Bears finished dead last in rush D, giving up an attrocious 272 yards per game.

The Bears' D also stepped up the pass rush pressure, going from 18 sacks in 2016 to 28 last season.

The Bears D didn't lose a lot of starting talent after the season and seemed to be poised to continue to make solid strides in 2018.
