Getting more and more off topic here, but has anyone watched the latest netflix unibomber doc?

My oversimplified take away from it was that harvurd broke the dude as an undergrad doing CIA grade pshyche tests... So he should be associated with them and not Cal for merely working in Berkeley.

Agreed...

It's been a while since I watched it (months in calendar time that feels like years given COVID) so iirc family shares the view that he was breaking/became broken while in Cambridge. Berkeley seems to have been where it started to manifest...weird to think of Cal as being the place where the application of knowledge is galvanized...isn't that the Cal Poly/CSU realm? (to go further off topic!)

It's actually a sad story. He would've gone to Cal but he lost his sister during his senior year and felt he needed to stay closer home to support the family.
