Just started checking flights and I forgot that Jet Blue is now absent from my quaint hometown forever used Long Beach Airport. We have taken the LGB-OAK flight for years for game weekends with Jet Blue who once had 5 flights daily.. Southwest now flies out of LGB but through Phoenix - not good. There is also Delta and American. Any ideas? Driving does in fact seem like an option for the first time in years for lots of reasons?

We usually drive from OC for the games. There's also a new Residence Inn opening in October that we're looking forward to staying in.

We are also Long Beach airport people. Jet Blue is gone and Southwest essentially has taken over the Long Beach airport (btw SW has a lot of direct flights from LB to different Hawaiian Islands). Pre C-19, LAX had the most flights for flexibility. We also fly out of OC airport, but at least prior to C-19, the airport had less direct flights. Also, after C-19 Southwest has been canceling a lot of flights so things are in flux.

Just booked 4 flights for weekend of 9/4. Direct flights early at 8 am or afternoon. Check John Wayne or LB.

SWA out of Long Beach is a long day for a direct flight. Generally looking at 8:45 leaving and 8:00 coming back. Night games probably not a great fit since no mid-day Saturday flights.

JW generally leaving 8:00 am and returning 4:40 or 7:35. There is a Sat. mid day SW flight going out for night games.

LAX has way more flexibility if you are flying SWA.

If you are willing to fly in and out of SFA (I'm not), thee are a few Jet Bleu selections ut of LAX at good prices.

Edit: Spriit has inexpensive but limited flights from LAX/Oakland. Depends on game time.

Has anyone tried a JSX flight between Concord and BUR or SNA (or anywhere)? They seem to use small planes, are hassle-free airport experience and not too expensive depending on the day.
I have been curious to try them for a flight to SoCal.

People who take JSX rave about it. But its always a bit more $$ and obviously the flight times are limited.

Cal fans should band together and see if we can get a group rate (i.e., buyout the plane)

Setting up a regular charter flight for Cal fans or maybe even chartering a bus probably would make sense.

Maybe Cal fans from Bay Area to Burbank for a game at the Rose Bowl?

My sister in Walnut Creek always takes JSX from Oakland to Burbank.

I dropped her off one time on her way back to Oakland and the experience looked pretty nice!
