Source says the 76ers are set to hire @katetscott as the new play-by-play announcer, becomg the 2nd full-time female play-by-play voice for a major pro U.S. team. Bucks hired Lisa Byington earlier this month.

Scott has been with @Pac12Network since 2015. More coming in @sbjsbd

Agree. Great for Kate. Best wishes for her success.
But I hope that in her free time (assuming she has free time) she can provide some advice to the current Mic-Men. They need a lot of help.
Lack of variety in their cheers.
Lack of "spirit".
Poor timing in their cheers vs what is going on in the game. When to cheer/when not to cheer.

First it was Roxy Bernstein, now Kate Scott - both organically grown broadcast professionals. But hey, we all know Starkey & McKim are top notch!

Congrats to Kate. She'll do a great job there.

Amazing career path by her. Really great to see.

So happy for her! One of the best mic-persons ever. Smooth voice for PBP too.

Kate's dad posts as Scottski. Been a while since I've seen him post, but I'm not here all that often.

But goodbye? More like congrats on your next stop, Kate.

This has to be a good promotion for her or she would not have taken it.

I've come across and listened to her work as a sports broadcaster / color peron, many times since I had seats next to Scottski in section TT, and she was leading cheers for Cal, way back whenever.

She's an excellent and informed sports broadcaster. She has her own takes and is always worth hearing. I may be Cal-biased in this but I'm not wrong.

Hahaaa!!! Those days were a couple weeks ago, weren't they !! So much fun watching those good Tedford teams and seeing the MicMen pump up the students and whole stadium!!! This IS a big move for Kate, spouse, and rescue Pittie, Piper. She hits the ground running, calling her first pre-season game Oct. 4th. And, she is still working with Mike Golic Sr. for another couple months calling radio college games for College FB Saturday Night powered by LEARFIELD. If you're interested, that site has a booth-cam w/audio during those games. Grinding... is her middle name. She will be changing addresses, but rest assured, will ALWAYS have Berkeley (CAL), and Oakland firmly in her heart. As with many of you and now, maybe your kids and grandkids... it's gonna be about.... What's Next ?!! Just turning the page to a new chapter. You and this group have always been such a great base of support for her (and Dad!). She (and We) don't forget. Thanks, friends!! S.

In Philly here, and Kate and I have inter-acted on Twitter. I told her that anything she might need for her wife and her, please reach out. I will say the same to you if you are going to be visiting Philly!
My daughter, who is working on a career in TV sports (behind the scenes), and I had joked about Kate getting the open position just the week before...she saw it before I did and texted me...incredible to get another Golden Bear in the area, but she thrilled for her overall....
And yes, there is a Cal Club of Philadelphia!!
