Hi CAL fans,
Today we lost a great fan during the CAL-Wash State game. His heart could not take it anymore. He left us with these words on his lips, "WORSER." NOT, "ROSEBUD, BUT WORSER." He was a great CAL fan but in the words of the great philosopher, "Yogi Berra, LSCF quoted him in the I Cloud about this CAL season, "It's deja vu all over again."

I must admit, I fell for it. System. Experience. Depth. Smart guys who want to be here and to invest themselves in the 40 year decision. All these would make for success on the field.

I bend the knee to those who have insisted that it's just great coaches and great players. Can Cal have those? Not without institutional support. The Cal community, writ large, has to want it and want to pay for it. I don't see it, not in my lifetime and maybe not in any of ours.

A shame too- unbiasedly the best place to watch college football. If we had SEC type support we'd be the best show in town.
