For all he did for the Pac-12, he totally deserves it.

The $billions given to coaches, and worse, do nothing athletics administrators living in luxury, while the athletes (heavily skewed African American), get relatively nothing is why the current system is deservedly being blown up.

Something more equitable should have been set up a long time ago such as a fund for players after college, lifetime health insurance, etc. If administered at the NCAA level it could have retained the "equal" field of play.

Now the market will rule. Once market forces are unleashed, it is nearly impossible to put the genie back in the bottle.

Larry Scott was totally incompetent.

He overplayed his hand when it came to doing a TV deal with Direct TV for Pac-12 Football and wound up with nothing. Moving into downtown San Francisco and signing that lease which has totaled $92 million since 2011 was criminal.

The Pac-12 Board of Directors are just as incompetent.

Gene Block, the chancellor of UCLA and the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Pac-12 needs his head examined. In 2017, he and the board extended Scott's contract through June of 2022.

Exactly. So much has been pillaged and squandered over the decades. Unlimited avenues for streaming and in my location I still too often have to rely on sketchily illegal streams to watch Cal football and basketball.
