The Week 4 conference games did get down to the nitty-gritty.

My off-the-cuff opinion of whether or not the Bears will go to a post-season bowl game is that Cal could still do it with a hell of a lot of luck.

Cal has now gotten 3 wins. Three more wins, and Cal is "in!"

Yes, the bruins walloped the Buffs, but the Buffs still managed to score 17 points. Surely the Bears can do better than that, especially at home?

As for Cal's other opponents, UDub showed that they're for real by convincingly beating down the furds.
Wazzu almost knocked the Ducks out of the Top 25. The Ducks won, but not before the Cougs showed that maybe they should be nationally ranked too. The same could be said about the Beavs given the scrappy game that they put up against the Trojans.

Anyway, I believe Cal should beat Colorado and the furdies. And, I'm sticking my neck out in saying I think Cal could possibly beat the bruins; if not, the Bears will otherwise have to pull off what would have to be regarded as the upset of the season. That is, Cal would have to beat at least one of the following: Wazzu, UDub, the Beavs, the Ducks, or the Trojans.

Cal is 3-1, and the game I find myself reminiscing positively about the most is the lone loss. That experience was next level.

I predict Cal will sweep one of the two states north of here as long as we don't have any more injuries on the front 7.

That is a big prediction and would be a part of a good season.

Udub has played 4 home games…none on the road. Their MSU win was good but MSU showed yesterday they aren't that good. Udub has to travel to UCLA for a Friday night contest this week which should give us a better outlook on them.

UCLA has played 4 cupcakes. Again Friday nights game against Udub will tell us if they are contenders in the PAC-12.

I think this is the best time to be playing WSU. They are coming off an emotional let down to Oregon. The Arizona game should be the blueprint. Offense: Run the ball, play action, no turnovers, OTT. Defense: Contain WSU Ward and make him a passer, bend but don't break, timely turnovers. Easier said they done but we are capable

I'm still scared of Trojans offense, Ducks offense & Beavers defense. All 3 games we could win but would have to play flawless.

Buffs & Furd are toast. Don't scare me

Agree that we can go bowling, but as usual depth becomes the big concern and injuries have been problems - especially the OL. I see our next opponents as the others do - Ucla and USC will play for the P12 South I believe. Utah is still in it. WSU? Our pass D isn't good- DeLara had 400 yds and he is basically the WSU clone. He wasn't even hurried. Let's see how we do this week and talk bowling again.

Did Calhoun come back in after being helped off?

wasn't hurried? i recall several plays where deLaura was scrambling and barely escaping. He's elusive. CAL got pressure on him, just didn't bring him down

Cal has an extremely favourable schedule which is why I believe they at least get to bowl eligibility.

We get Colorado instead of Arizona on the road
The toughest north teams we get at home (UW, Oregon)
We miss Utah
Furd is at home
And the winnable socal game is at home (ucla)

The only game that would be a gargantuan upset would be beating USC in LA

Besides SC, every other game is winnable. Between ucla, UW, Oregon, I'm fairly confident we get at least 1

And I don't think we will be more than a 7 point dog to either wsu or osu
