Being a Cal type of player includes not quitting on your team midseason.

Again players leave a team for various reasons. At the end of the day, a coach needs wins and players needs reps to make it to the NFL. The stigma you just said will keep your head in the sand for awhile….

Cal's better off going after players with proven fortitude and not ones that resort to transfer portals as the first choice.

College world has changed. I guess USC and Caleb Williams are in the same category? CAL will continue to be left behind…

Caleb Williams & most other transfers didn't 86 their teammates 4 games into the season.

Talent is talent. You believe his former players are hurt he is leaving? Players want the best situation for their teammates. I guess his former teammates will never forgive him for finding a better situation for himself…

I am sure they aren't too thrilled that he's looking only out for #1.

What I don't understand is why he waited to transfer NOW instead of over the summer? Is it because the offensive coordinator was fired?

It seems very weird to quit on the team and it will hurt his reputation.

I don't see why he needed to leave now. Yes, it preserves a year of eligibility, but so what? He would be playing football instead of whatever he is doing now. There's not a lot of NFL showcasing going on sitting on the sidelines.

Anyway, he already graduated so he'd be looking for a graduate program. I am not sure Cal is the best place for him to enroll in grad school in order to showcase his talents for the NFL.

If those teammates feel his abrupt departure prevents them from winning some games, then damn right they're pissed at him for doing so in the manner he did. In fact, I guarantee some even lost total respect for the guy.

But then he'd enter the transfer portal at Cal if things don't go his way, or if he thinks he can get a better offer somewhere else.

Transferring after starting for four games is Brendan Scarlett and Tosh Lupoi level of betrayal. Cal Strong no want him.

Yes, after 15 years I would accept Tosh is he runs stadium steps until he vomits, donates the amount of his UW salary to Doe Library, and publicly apologies to Cal and to Tedford.

And if this kid does the same at Boise, then Boise should probably take him back.

Yeah, it's been 15 years on the Tosh Lupoi saga, and I'm at the point where I might piss on him to put out a fire. But, I still don't want him back as a coach. Maybe as a cut-rate tackling dummy. Maybe.

Cal Strong would never take him back unless he performed some serious public penance.

If he did that, Cal Strong would take him back provided there was a huge buyout clause in his contract.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Times have changed and your thinking is odd now days. I'm sure NIL deals are horrible and NCAA is a great organization in your eyes at one time. I'm glad some alumni created a forum to help bring student athletes to CAL.

I'd be interesting to see him come to Cal and be our QB1, or Hank1.

He's tired of being beaten up by bad O Line play. If Cal's O Line plays like last years WSU and UCLA games, Plummer might consider leaving as well. Tomorrow will tell us if Arizona was that bad or We're making progress in the unit that We have known was awful since the Dyke's O Lines. Cross Your fingers. Go Bears.
