I can't stomach talking about our game this afternoon, so I'll talk about this. OK, I've seen cool helmets, ugly helmets, all kinds of helmets. But I don't think I've ever had the opportunity to describe a helmet as "creepy"... until now. I don't know whose idea that was, but...

Same people that design Oregon uniforms I imagine.
I think it's an NIL thing.
Apparently each helmet has the players face on it.
Yeah, creepy.
But so is everything about the brave new world of money driven "amateur" football right now.

This is what I read about the portraits on the helmets:
"Utah squares off against the USC Trojans Saturday evening and the Utes will be donning hand-painted helmets that have pictures of two teammates that died over the last two years.

Aaron Lowe and Ty Jordan, who both wore the No. 22 jersey, were friends when they were younger in Texas and both died within a year of each other."

That's freaking AWESOME!

Kansas and the Beavs had some clean helmet designs

Hearing the backstory makes it make more sense. However, I would have done it a bit differently, perhaps images of their jerseys with their names might have been a bit more dignified. But that's just my opinion, I know that the way kids do things is different than in my day. Either way, I'm glad they honored their teammates.
