I bought tickets in section U, which is on the east side because the deals were far better over there. I also don't have a problem sitting on the east side at night when there is no chance of baking in the sun.
I've either sat on the north or west side for the last 15 years.
I can't remember the last time I sat on the east side, but it might have been the 1982 big game (yes I was there).
I am used to the convenience of going into the concourse for food and restroom.
Can anyone give me the lowdown on the east side?
What is the food like? Are lines long?
Are there porto potties?
Do you have to go up to the top for everything or are you allowed to cross over to the west side concourse?

). You are free to go up top and then walk all the way around the stadium for other food, drink and real bathrooms, but it's a trek. The actual game experience is better on the East side, in my opinion, though, as the fans are a bit more boisterous and the students are on that side. Harder to hear the band, though. Lastly, if the Big One hits, you may be saved while the alumni on the west side may all sink into the core of the earth, despite our billion-dollar attempt to not let that happen. Go Bears!
