His basketball mention is truly funny ("great to close out the year with a couple wins").

His football summary just talks about Starkey and that he thinks Wilcox puts us "over the top" next year ... Does he know 19 guys are transferring out on a team with a losing record?

Knowlton seems to be just plain ignorant. He and Wilcox make a good pair of totally incompetent doofuses. It's no wonder we have one of the worst football programs in the FBS. And our basketball program is even worse. I wish I could see some reason for hope in the near future, but I just don't think success is anywhere in the cards until both of them are replaced. That seems to be a long way off. God help us!

It is great to close out 2022 with a couple wins. However, in no way does that change the overall situation of the program.

In football, we've taken so many hits on so many fronts in the last year that it's easy to lose hope, but maybe a few things start going right for a change and we get back to at least .500 next season. Maybe. I'm a Cal fan, so I gotta believe,

At a time when we needed a smart, savvy, forward thinking visionary, we got the opposite.

It is a crime that he is paid $millions in tax-payer dollars that is guaranteed through the end of the decade.

As I have been saying since we hired him, we will be lucky if we still have an athletics department when Knowlton is done.

I am trying to have hope, but things are looking very bleak.

Do you really believe he bumbled into all of this? No one is that stupid. To my ear/eye, he presents reasonably well. He's just a low energy guy looking to pad his retirement. There isn't much blow back for the poor performance of FB and MBB bc no one really cares, and with each passing year there are more credible excuses for failure.

He's doing just fine for what he is. A man at the tail end of his career making money and acting as a caretaker/passive program dismantler. Definitely wouldn't label him a doofus. Grifter? Maybe too judgy for the high roaders on this board but probably accurate.

Do you know that players transferring in and out are the new normal? Maybe you were too wrapped up in negativity to notice but welcome to modern college football.

Umm who has transferred in that is going to materially change our prospects? I get that it is not over but are we really going to replace JMike and all that potential? Femi? #1 position of need is o-line and we have not heard a peep of positive news - only negative.

So yes my negativity is sky high but I am aware of the sea changes in the cfb landscape ... and the one thing that is not changing is Cal and its ways.

Correction: Matt C (albeit injured) is coming back so one piece of good news. Offset by Coleman and Spencer transferring out.

All three of them - Knowlton, Fox, and Wilcox know they are done after this. They will just milk whatever salary they can from Cal and then retire with millions.

Knowlton is the GREATEST AD (Athletic Destroyer) in the history of college sports.

Fire Knowlton, Wilcox, Fox and Smith!

Bring Back Respect To Cal FB, MBB and WBB!

Go Bears!

It would be quite a national story. Christ steps in and fires all the UC Berkeley Bears coaches in order to "bring back the glory years" to UC Berkeley Bears Athletics.

I've never been sanguine on Cal's prospects in the free agency era. We are going to be hard pressed to break even, let alone achieve a net gain, in the transfer market.
