When I was an undergrad at Cal a buddy and I snuck onto the Furd campus posing as furd students to experience their Full Moon tradition where students meet at midnight and all make out with each other. Kissed many furdettes that night.

Well done, though I have a small quibble with the part about $70,000 for a worthless piece of paper - that is actually less than the cost for one year - the full 4-year cost for a Furd degree is actually estimated at around $320,000 (https://www.sofi.com/stanford-university-tuition-fees/#:~:text=How%20much%20will%20Stanford%20tuition,%2C%20according%20to%20CollegeData.com.)

I'm a little surprised that you didn't time this around the Big Game, or April 1st, but nice effort.
I will say though, I think the Shaw one is kind of embarrassing-if Cal had a coach leaving after what he accomplished, the discussion would be where does the statue go, and how big should it be...

Getting a stadium deal done at Cal is arguably harder, and we got screwed out of one Rose Bowl, too.

In seasons Cal had between 1 and 2 pac losses under Tedford they went to the holiday bowl twice.

In seasons Stanford had between 1 and 2 pac losses under Shaw they went to the Rose Bowl 3 times and the Fiesta Bowl once.

Bowl structure was very different for Cal than it was for Stanford, especially in 2004 when there were 4 bcs games (championship took over one of the other sites completely, in 2005 they added the +1 format so there were 5 bcs games), and then that was expanded to effectively 6 bcs games when they went to the 4 team playoff. Had the exact 2004 situation happened in 2005 Cal would have gone to the Rose Bowl (AND Texas would have gone to a BCS game...just a different one).

Just like most things Cal football...even when things go right they go just barely enough wrong to screw us out of a Rose Bowl.

I will say this regarding the trolling: our OP didn't get ahold of the Furd mailing list, the audience was strictly the students on campus; he can certainly argue the Rose Bowls mean nothing compared to what they all have experienced in recent years.
