Please give to Cal Legends at https://calegends.com/calegendsdonate/donate-football/ and encourage everyone you know who loves Cal sports to do it too.

To be in the Top 1% of all NIL collectives we only need around 10% of alumni to give $300 per year. Please help spread the word. "If we don't broaden this base we're dead." - Sebastabear

Thanks for reading my sig! Please consider copying or adapting it and using it on all of your posts too. Go Bears!

Think that post was sarcastic / tongue in cheek.

Would love for it to happen (Would make Pac 12 east / south division actually make sense) but as noted in comments, not likely from financial standpoint

The football programs would fit nicely with our conference, but these are two places I would never want to visit for a game. SMU as well. San Diego, Las Vegas, New Orleans? Those would be nice.

Love the UW poster that suggests luring U$C back with big money and leaving UCLA in the Big Ten.

Cal Strong glad others drinking deeply and strongly from his deep well of strong wisdom.

We have Utah -- the natural rivals of BYU.
We have Colorado -- the natural rivals of Nebraska.

Neither of those teams will ever win the Big-12, but they have a stronger chance in the Pac. And they would have better access to the more fertile recruiting ground of California. But this may not be the strongest incentive for BYU, which has a naturally built-in global recruiting pool due to their religious affiliation.

May not be enough to convince them to give up the temporary money grab, but long term it make more sense than being buried in a conference with Michigan, Ohio State, and the LA schools.

Cal Strong has never been the same since he got kicked in the head by a camel about 5 years ago.

I like your avatar/profile pic (not sure what it is the right term). What if we led a bearinsider movement to get everyone to use the same profile pic? That would hopefully get some media attention - although I guess the media left when our wins went out the door.

The biggest Nebraska rival for years was Oklahoma, and one of the best college rivalries of all time...but yes, they played in Big 8 when Colorado (and themselves) were solid, and competitive with each other. And sure, it's a nice Pac-12 pairing.
But there is no reason for Nebraska to walk away from the Big-they have the fan support (butts in the seats and donor base), facilities, stadium et. al. to believe they can compete. IF the conference money was close, maybe they would at least think twice, but it's not going to be.

Strong points. And maybe mbBear is right. But the facts in favor are: 1) Colorado is probably their biggest rival, 2) they are buried in the Big10, and 3) they need access to west coach recruiting.

Would this outweigh the current financial situation? No idea. But a strong commissioner would take a strong shot at both BYU and Nebraska before flirting with TCU and SDSU.

If Cal Strong were commissioner, he would use his strong strength to convince them.

Cal Strong also confused by the value SDSU adds. They no grant any other Pac-12 school strong entries in the SoCal recruiting territories. They no replacement for UCLA and U$C in that regard. A HS player from Crenshaw High, Newport Harbor, or Mater Dei isn't going to be more attracted to Cal or WSU or Colorado because they will get to play in Aztec Stadium in eastern San Diego every other year.

But, NE plays the "Let's pretend" game better than even we do, at least over the last 10 years. 'Course, the "Let's pretend" game has built a college football industry, so what do I know?
