IMHO, Jimmy is an upgrade to a B from a C (Carr). Jimmy can make a dent in the playoffs; Carr will never win a playoff game. Jimmy, like Carr, is not durable, and he won't deliver the ultimate prize.

*The Raiders will now take over my old Niners slot: Because I like Jimmy G, I will now prefer that the Raiders win (unlike under Carr when I prayed to his God that Raiders got wrecked), but when the Raiders lose, I won't really care.

It will be mildly interesting to see if just-good-enough-to-lose Garoppolo is better than just-good-enough-to-lose Carr. In any event, hoping for the worst for Little Davis and all of Las Vegas.

Derek Carr is . 444 in his career.

Saints and Niners. As I noted above The addition of the mediocre Carr actually gives them the best QB in an awful QB division. They should make the playoffs.

We'll see how the two QBs do with their new teams. There is evidence to indicate that McDaniel is just an average offensive coach without Brady as his QB. The major thing they accomplished with the QB switch was freeing up a lot of cap space.

I liked Jimmy G as a QB and he was arguably one pass away from winning a Super Bowl but there is a reason that Shanahan wanted to move off of him. I think his winning percentage might be a little skewed based on the overall team strength of the 49ers.
