We must be the only P5 program with no reports or videos on our website.

There's an article titled "Cal Football Spring Ball Day 2" that was posted same day. Is that what you're looking for?

I count two different websites with stories on Saturdays practice. Both require a subscription though.

i'm all for demanding more out of our program...but a simple search shows there are reports on Cal fan boards, and other P5 official sites don't have spring pratice updates either...

I swear people used to live-tweet about practice in real time. What happened? I remember multiple reporters doing that in the past.

What happened?

Good question.

When your program sucks as badly as ours, people tend to lose interest.

It's his only reason to exist : to complain about everything Cal. That's why he's known as Golden Onenote around here.

"I think Cal had a football practice today.
I mean, I don't see any players, but they
must have been here as the field is still warm!"

Might also want to check out the Cal Bears channel on YouTube.

They both - this site and the other - got on it fairly quickly. As much as you'd like to have an AI write the articles for you they don't write themselves and even the professionals take a little bit of time.

My own take was that it wasn't much fun out there in the rain. The ball was slippery and it took a little adjusting, but they all did and throws and catches were fine.

I don't want to read too much out of two practices (I missed todays). And at this point you expect the defense to be ahead of the offense. But what I was seeing was a bit of a continuation from last year, with the QB standing in the pocket, the pocket too often breaking down and the QB having to run for his life. Which brings us to the old question - do we plan for the line we want, or the line we have? Even with our woes last year we kept asking the QB to stand in the pocket, and Jack Plummer got beat up pretty badly. We didn't roll him out because I guess he "isn't that kind of quarterback" and we didn't want to try Kai even though he was much more mobile.

I'm sure it isn't that simple. Always heard that if your line is a bit porous, and your QB mobile, roll him out to get him time. We'll see what happens.

With all the turnover, give them a couple of weeks to learn each other's names. Hope springs eternal.

When I said "our website" I meant the official Calbears.com website and YouTube channel (I did enjoy the interviews with players). I appreciate that subscription sites exist but it seems like our athletic department, with its huge budget, could do more try to market the program and create excitement like they used to and other programs do.
