I don't "think", I KNOW that we are not good enough for Nebraska. Why woudl anyone take. a massive payout just so they can do a home-and-home in the Paloose?
For the same reason Texas and Oklahoma almost joined the Pac . . . because they might make more money with us. Now if we only had a commissioner who could make that pitch, and then make it a reality.
Plus, they would get an equal share with us -- whereas they get a partial share of the profits with the B1G.
If you can't see the difference between leaving the Big 12 years ago for greener (ie, cash money) pastures and bolting from the BiG, Cal Strong is weaker than I thought. But note, Texas wanted to keep its own cable feed and more money (than equal sharing), which was a non-starter for the Pac.
That's the future wasn't it? Unequal revenue. Do I think the Big 10, SEC media deals are over priced? Yes (unless it creates a consolidation).
Who is paying for the revenue of the unequal conference members? The market, however, some of that money comes from the mouths of other conference mates, but they benefit too by association.
Conferences outside the top 2-3 will become scheduling alliances, playoff determiners, championship game organizers, and UBI distributors.
