They hired an AD (George) who knows football (played for Mike White at Illinois), has P5 experience, had been at Colorado previously (when they last won a National Championship) but also has professional sports management experience having previously ran the PGA and the Texas Rangers so he understands that college football is a business and marketing is critical in the NIL and transfer portal era. He has a strategy and vision. Note in the time we have had Wilcox, Colorado has had 4 coaches (6 if you count interim coaches) and George's three hires have all been African Americans: Mel Tucker, Karl Dorrell and Deion Sanders.

Again, their AD has a strategy and a vision, has a lifetime of relevant experience and is a forward thinker.

The contrast with Knowlton is stark.

Marshawn giving speeches like his famous "run through a m*thaf*cka face" speech (aka over and over and over) could get players to run through walls for him.

I think its a great idea and would be great for marketing also. But the fools in the AD would never allow it.

Let's see if Marshawn can lead ANY team through a few seasons like Deion successfully did first!

Gotta show up on time, hire staff, recruit, coach, handle media interviews, etc etc etc.

How many interviews did Marshawn do when he was a mere player???

Maybe Colorado ends up 6-6 best case.

I think cal basketball has a chance to have the greatest turnaround in history. Sure, not as much hype. But madsen did it the right way, and it's going to be way more sustainable (we will see where Colorado is 4-5 years from now)

Colorado Buffaloes class of 2024 recruit WR/DB Aaron Butler, ends senior season early to focus on college football.

Butler, a four-star recruit who committed to Colorado in May, announced his decision to forgo the final five games of his senior season at Calabasas, enroll in online classes and graduate high school early so that he could be on campus at Colorado and begin classes and working out with the football team.

Butler, from Calabasas, California, is ranked as the No. 65 player in the 2024 class, No. 9 player in the state of California and the No. 5 at his position in the cycle, according to 247Sports.

Coach Deion Sanders and his father, Robb-Davon Butler were teammates briefly on the Baltimore Ravens.

Don't believe this is comparable in any way shape or form. Basketball players bailed prior to the hiring of Coach Madsen.
