The Hotel Durant is now called the Graduate Berkeley. It's a 4-star hotel at 2600 Durant Avenue. The Cal band pre-game performance in Sproul Plaza begins 90 minutes before kickoff.
Thank you Golden One. I could not remember the exact name, but knew it had some sort of "college campus" reference to it.

I miss the days of the "Durant". Stayed there twice for Big Game and really had a great time. The staff was incredible for my girl's first Big Game, putting all sorts of Cal related things on the bed for us to discover when we arrived (it was her first Big Game and all the Blue and Gold stuff really made an impression!). THAT was service.

Also wondering if tailgate town is happening for a last pregame beer? Also - the stadium has beer sales during the first half and halftime yes?
As far as I know, tailgate town is happening this season. And yes, beer is sold inside the stadium.

I wonder if out of conference fans end up being shocked when they get to the stadium only to find there's no large parking lot to park or tailgate in.

We normally do Faculty Club "Taigate" up till kickoff but the grassy areas outside the stadium with IPAs and views are underrated IMO, have been carving out a 20-30 minutes hang there before going inside.

The Faculty Club is fantastic. Highly recommend it.

I also like getting beer at the I House and sitting on the patio with a view to the Golden Gate down Bancroft and great people watching as the crowd streams into the stadium.

Both buildings with great history and collegiate atmosphere.
