I really thought about the players not wanting to travel and wanting to stay home for family members to watch their games. By traveling across the country, family will not be able to travel. As such, being in the Bay Area, I believe we will keep a lot of kids otherwise who wanted to goto WA, OR, UCLA and USC.

With many kids wanting to stay home, we may not see immediate athletic success but but highly sought kids realizing they can only do so much traveling and getting back to their dorms at 4AM, I am willing to bet traveling will get pretty old very quick. It would be interesting to see what happens when the transfer portal reopens.

Of your four parameters, three are relatively easy to meet. But the 4th (Power 5) is a tougher nut to crack. And in this day and age, TV rules all things football, and I don't see this amalgamation of teams bringing in sufficient TV revenue to fly.

While we used to be #1 in one of those it is now apparent to me that everyone and their grandma across the country has a dispensary near them so theirs really no way to differentiate on #3

For #2, this is our strength and we appear to be making strides here in nil. But we need to do more. We can't be 10x the alumni wealth of Alabama or SMU and get out recruited by them and their **** locals. We are in a better area with a better climate a better education and more money. There is no reason in hell we should be losing in this area. I exposed the fact that donations direct to the ad thru light the way and annualized donations far exceeded Alabama and yet here we are. Imho the solution is more accountability.

I always thought it was slightly creepy that when Ross Bowers went to Cal, his entire family followed him. As in his parents quit their jobs and moved two states away and his sibling had to change schools. An entire family's life should not be centered around one child's athletic endeavor. That is not healthy and they had bad family values in my opinion.

Family doesnt need to attend every game. We need to make sure they can watch every game on TV, but not attend every game in person.

This conference you've constructed seems to defeat the requirement of being near enough for family members to watch their games. What's the difference for the family of a CA kid between flying to Washington, Colorado or Texas and flying to an ACC location? Yeah the flight is longer and more expensive but when you have to get on a plane anyway, you're not getting much benefit from the shorter distance involved. A non-stop flight from Oakland to Raleigh is only 1.5 hours longer than the 3.5 hour flight to Dallas.
