If at all it would be a minority -- and even if small hands and some may have thought he was washed up, I wouldn't say there were haters -- just assessing whether he was done or not. I saw a lot of Ram fan haters. Not sure Cal fans would be mocking our own, when he did so much for us and has and been always a great rep for the university (I've never seen the guy complain either at Cal or in the NFL- dude is such a good guy). I think you're overplaying that.

A huge segment, I would even say the vast majority on this board, were clamoring for Kline or Hinder throughout the horrible 2013 season and denigrating Goff in the process. And Dykes of course.

Didn't we have just 1 conference win Goff's first season? I never missed a home game in person or an away game on TV. Goff was worth the price of admission. Throwing 25 yard bombs with 2 to 2.5 seconds of protection and getting sacked every other down. It was then I felt he could make it in the NFL because he didn't need the 4+seconds every U$C QB felt was their birthright.*

*….and then the U$C QB (some with Heismans) goes high in the Draft to a team with a porous O Line providing 2 seconds of protection and it is Game. Set. Match.

We lost a lot of games in 2013 and Goff's QB rating of 123.2 was lower than Maynard's 130.3 the year before, and we know how beloved Maynard was on this board.

I reckon Kline to be a precursor to Baker Mayfield but vastly inferior in football talent but with slightly more promise writing and singing country music They both wore flamboyant head bands and that's where they both excelled
