If there is one thing Cal fans really should have learned by now, it that backup QBs are backups for a reason.

Lots of people were clamoring for Kai Milner last year . . . this year he wasn't good enough to start at Northern Arizona.

Meanwhile, Jack Plummer is undefeated and beating #10 Notre Dame by two TDs in the 4th quarter in South Bend.

Milner should start over Plummer . . . wrong and weak.
Rubenzer should start over Goff . . . wrong and weak.
Kline should start over Goff . . wrong and weak.
Kline should start over Maynard . . . wrong and weak.
Riley should start over Longshore . . . mostly wrong, but not necessarily weak.
Levy should start over Ayoob . . . strong. But this was really a backup vs. 3rd string situation.

Well . . . of the seven examples Cal Strong cited, Mendoza seems more the exception than the norm (in the Levy v Ayoob vein).

Cal Strong is so strong blood is flowing everywhere except his brain.

Cal Strong needs to layoff the roids and drink a green smoothie.

Cal Strong would love green smoothie! Maybe he make one for afternoon (post workout) snack. Or maybe he buy one (though those tend to added sugar). Maybe he bring his own unsweetened vanilla almond milk to smoothie shop. Tip smoothie lady $5 for good service, $2 for mediocre service. Be strong gentleman. That considered a lot of money for a tip in New Zealand.

What this have to do with BI's history of clamoring for backup QBs who almost always, to a man, are worse than the starter?

(Cal Strong no do steroids. He high on life, on exercise, parenting . . . and on Voltaire, Augustine, Petrarch, Franois de Sales, John Calvin, Woody Allen, chivalry, and smoothies. But he a junkie only for hope that Cal Football and BI posters will someday do the things necessary to get STRONG . . . like Cal.)
