When does this team become desperate and begin to play as such

I get that last night was a feeling-out period for Mendoza but going into the 2nd half once it became apparent that what we were doing on defense wasn't working we had to start selling out on downs and did none of that, Oregon State on long yardage or a 3rd down had a TE open down low, WRs finding holes in our secondary, there was no penetration all game into their backfield, etc. so at what point do we throw out what we're doing and start gambling like degenerates to try to win games, I can see us stealing SC if our guys play with their hair on fire but if Cam Rising is gone and we lose in Salt Lake because we play another pedestrian game (especially defensively) this will be ugly by November.

What's scary is that the defense was equally porous versus Washington. Looks like a pattern. No defense against anyone good

Washington was ****ing ugly and there were a lot of other issues besides the defense plus I still think Penix and his wide receiving corp are the best in FBS and will be in the playoff, last night however was unsettling as Oregon State doesn't have the same set of playmakers Washington does (besides a decent QB), our secondary will be roasted by teams like SC and Washington State unless we start selling out with heavy blitzes because the defensive backfield cannot cover worth a *******.

So let me get this straight - wilcox can't field a good offense or defense? Or special teams?

We know what needs to be done and won't. 4 more years to oblivion.

I really thought after Auburn we had the best defense in the conference and they would keep us in every game...nope.

I really thought after how well our special teams played against Arizona State that they were fine going forward...nope.

QB? Finally sorted that out, only took 6 games though.

Watching this team is like playing a ****ing game of Whac-a-mole and should not be the case.

At 3-3, bowl eligibility is going to be very tough with this schedule:

@ #16 UTAH

vs #10 USC

@ #8 Oregon

vs #19 Washington State

@ Stanford

@ #18 UCLA

5 of our next 6 opponents are in the Top 25, with 4 of the next 6 games on the road.

Other than Stanford, where are the wins?

Forget about getting into a bowl game. Not a chance in hell that's going to happen. We're looking at 3-9 or 4-8 this season. Another vintage Wilcox masterpiece.

We need a winning culture! Will never get that with Wilcox.

Agree. The 59 we gave up to UW was the first time Wilcox had surrendered 50+ at Cal. OSU was the first time Wilcox gave up 50+ at home. We're currently ranked 104th in scoring defense and 117th in passing defense. And we still have UO and USC on the schedule.

That was sarcasm, which I often employ to battle my seemingly annual case of we're-crappy-again depression.
