Not the 2012 team, not the 2013 team, nope tonight was it, most points given up to Oregon and worst loss ever

I very strongly disagree with the mentality wherein scoring points is a palliative even if it has no impact on the margin of defeat. 52-48 is not one whit more tolerable a loss than 14-10 in my book.okaydo said:Strykur said:

Not even close.
2023: A bad Cal team loses badly to Oregon. That's like a smart student getting a 4.5 GPA. It's hardly noteworthy.
On the other hand...
2009: Cal was ranked No. 6 in the nation playing at an unranked Oregon.
ESPN College Gameday said it twice: We're coming to your city if you beat Oregon.
Cal lost 42-3.
Also, I would argue that a 39-point loss where your only score is a field goal is worse than a 44-point loss where you score 19 points.

if not for the players on their team, they dont score any points and we win 19-0.calumnus said:okaydo said:Strykur said:

If not for the scoop and score we scored 12 and lost by. 51.

Our pac-12 going out tour is going exactly as planned.
It is getting easier to accept that we will no longer have a relevant Cal football team in a few years let alone a football program at all.
Thank you Cal AD (present and past) and the broader university.

It is all on Knowlton. Plenty of ADs have hired first time HCs who turned out to be bad and get fired, but only Knowlton extends that guy out to year 11.
And really, it is all on Christ for hiring Knowlton, then after he showed how bad he was in destroying our basketball program, mishandling COVID and ignoring reports of abuse in the Women's Swinming program, gave Knowlton an 8 year extension.
