Something to gripe about the Big Game -PAC12 network replays

Each week, the PAC12 network replays all the conference games from the previous weekend (edited for time, so they are cut to 60 minutes). I like the watch the Cal game, even if I saw it in person, since the TV presentation will show slightly different views from what I saw. This week, the Washington/Oregon State game is scheduled to be replayed about 6 times, while the WSU/Colorado, USC/UCLA, Oregon/ASU, and Utah/Arizona games are all (I think) being replayed twice. This leaves just the Big Game, which is only broadcast once ... at 1am Tuesday morning (and I don't have the capability to record it - grrr).

Do you also get the regional Pac12 Bay Area channel or just the Pac12 national channel? If you get the regional channel, the 60 min Big Game replay is on tonight at 6:00, 7:00, 9:00 and midnight. No idea why it's so scarce on the national feed.

I was wondering about next year on the ACC network. Does anyone know if they do similar regional coverage (e.g. Pac12 Bay Area, Los Angeles, etc...). I'm hoping they broadcast all the games that aren't on main networks.

When they have multiple games on at once they make the other ones streaming-only.

There is no such thing as "ACC Network-Miami" or "ACC Network-Boston" haha.

ACC Network Xtra (and SEC Network Xtra) is where all other non ACC Network or other ESPN channel games are broadcasted. It is available on the ESPN… don't have to pay extra for it either.

Yup. YouTubeTV, for example, has ACC Network and also an overflow channel for the "ACC Network Extra" games, both included in the base YouTubeTV package. All of those games are also on the ESPN mobile app and ESPN+.

It is light years better than Larry's Pac-12 Network.

The caveat is that - at least for now- one must subscribe to a cable package that includes the ACC Network to watch ACC Network games via the ESPN app. For out of market areas, this will cost a substantial amount over basic cable ($15-20/mo), or one could switch to a service like youtubeTV that offers ACCN on their base package. I haven't seen any info on this yet, but I would suspect the Bay Area will get ACCN on basic cable, but LA, Sacramento, and San Diego will not.

As for replays, it looks like all ACC games are available uncompressed via ESPN streaming, provided you subscribe to the channel they originally aired on (so basically there is a dividing line between ESPN/ABC/ESPN2 on basic cable and ESPNU/ ACCN being dependent on where one lives and what upgraded TV package one pays for).

I do know that Cal Stanford and SMU are in the process of building out new production facilities bc ESPN requires it for ACC and SEC schools. I also know that ESPN was out there at cal and Stanford a few weeks to help on that front.

I think pretty much all the major streaming TV services have ACC Network available. It should be pretty easy for Cal fans to get access.

so I set a reminder and I'm there at 1:00 AM and I get...

Video Playback Issues? I can watch other crap, but that is the one with Video Playback Issues? Was it just me and my location or typiCal luck. I got up early enough to hear Cal tie the B-Ball game with six seconds to play. That was good, for six seconds.

"...with Wilner noting that Scott's total amount of pay from the conference for that 2009-2021 work is set to clear $50 million"

Continuing from my rant that those at the top aren't subjected to the pay for performance metric. It continues to disgust me to no end.

The key in a capitalistic economy is to work your way to the top of an organization where you can convince those around you to pay you the big bucks.

The golden rule: he with with the gold makes the rules.

I guess it also works the other way around - he who makes the rules gets the gold.

AKA: power.

Can anyone think of a leader who thought to take less for the benefit of the organization?

(How about John Mackey of Whole Foods for starters!)

Late update: there supposedly is ANOTHER replay of the Big Game - Wednesday night at 11:00 PM on the PAC 12 network. Not ideal for old codgers like me, but certainly doable. And no I don't get the other channel, sigh.
