Bears Pick up Top Running Back Portal Target Kadarius Calloway
The Bears picked up their top running back portal target today with the commitment of former 4 star Alabama signee and Old Dominion junior transfer Kadarius Calloway.
As a consensus 4 start running back out of Philadelphia, Mississippi in 2021, Calloway signed with and enrolled at Alabama as a defensive back and went through training camp before opting to further prepare himself for the D1 level by transferring to East Mississippi Community College where they listed him with 75 carries for 462 yards and 2 TDs his sophomore season after limited duty as a freshman at DB, though his sophomore highlights indicate several more TDs. He also had a kick return for a TD as well.
After transferring to ODU, Calloway injured his foot in spring ball and came back in game four to rush for 623 yards in 88 carries (7.08 ypc) and 5 TDs in 9 games this season. HIs breakout game was his first game back against Marshall with 231 yards and 3 TDs on just 9 carries. Calloway also added 8 catches for 48 yards and 1 TD through the air.
Calloway becomes the 25th signee of the Bears’ 2024 class through prep, JC, portal and grad transfer additions.
Stay tuned for more on Calloway’s signing.
