No way, he scores the game winner and dies in her arms. Much better song

End game. On third and 12 from the TB 30 Goff takes a knee, losing two yards, making it fourth and 14. 36 seconds remained in the fourth quarter. There was 40 seconds on the play clock. So everyone started shaking hands and stuff. It's over. No need to snap the ball again. Except TB had one timeout remaining. Why didn't they take it? Sure, Detroit could have kicked a field goal to ice it. But what if they missed? Or Detroit could have tried to get a first down. Or just run around using up time. But TB would have had a teeny tiny chance to try for a miracle play. You know, maybe five laterals or something. Instead they chose to just say congrats and good luck Lions. I don't think you ever give up when you have any chance at all. Thoughts?

Just got through Goff's game. Amazing how it ended so similarly to the Niners' game. Cool that they meet next week at Levi's!

Man, Goff ran a pretty good offense today. Thinking the Niners better get their crap together if they think they're gonna pull out another win.

Nice that I'll have something to celebrate no matter which team prevails.

After that gleeful summary by Collinsworth about where this game is headed for the Bucs, I hope Mayfield sh@its the bed with a pic to open the 2nd half.
How about his backhanded compliment that "Goff makes easy things look easier."

Curious, what makes the compliment backhanded?
Implying Goff has it easy on this team.

When did Collinsworth say, or even imply, Goff has it easy? Sounds like some people are grasping at straw in their efforts to find something to be offended by.

You must have missed Collinsworth's comment about Goff "making easy things look easier", a weird, contorted backhanded compliment.

I heard the comment just didn't see a reason to take offense.

BTW, why are some people caring so much what Collinsworth says about Goff? Regardless of what Collinsworth says, what impact does it have on your quality of life? Why are people choosing to be offended?

Sunday Night Football is the No. 1 show on TV. Cris Collinsworth can help shape the narrative on Goff.

Back in his Ram days, on multiple occasions, Collinsworth would have the main screen shrink and put in a box of McVay's face to emphasize that McVay is basically playing Madden with Goff.

Collinsworth also majority owns Pro Football Focus, which Sunday Night Football uses on screen.

I'm not going to go in on Collinsworth because I watch Goff games with the sound turned down.

But Collinsworth is a very influential person.

Nope. Just watched it again. It was third down. And there were 36 seconds left after the third down play. Only thing I can think of is that the TV crew had it wrong and the Bucs were actually out of timeouts. There was some confusion when with 3:02 left Tampa Bay called their second timeout. After they called it the refs announced that there was a five yard penalty against TB. The ref said something inaudible about the timeout and then his mic came on more clearly, and he said the clock was stopped because of the penalty. The TV announcer said they got their timeout back because of that. But is that what the ref had said? Couldn't hear. But the TV graphic clearly reverted to two timeouts left. Next play TB called what was described as their second timeout and never called another one.

The only logical explanation is Todd Bowles had a dinner reservation he needed to make.

Sounds right! Maybe they just wanted to get the hell out of there. Wait 'til next year.
Changed my mind about the TV guys making a mistake. After the Lions punt and the two minute warning, Mike Tirico said that the Bucs had 1:59 and one time out to score. I don't see how he could have been mistaken. After a short pass caught inbounds the clock kept running. The next hurried play was the interception. Three kneel downs. No timeout ever called. WHY NOT? And no one ever said anything about it. Too busy talking about the interception and about how the Lions had won.
I'm getting obsessed with this!

I don't think anyone is offended at what Collinsworth said (though you seem to be offended that what he said was posted here). The point is that he has been and continues to be a sharp critic of Goff, and while Goff is taking the Lions to an unprecedent (at least over the last few decades) to a second round playoff victory, securing a spot in the NFC championship, Collinsworth offers faint praise that he makes easy things look easier, implying that he is not up to the job when it comes to difficult things. No offense was taken or expressed, just an observation about Collinsworth and his bias.

Just did. Nothing about it. It was fourth and like 12 for goodness sakes. 36 seconds with which to try to pull off a miracle. Why let the clock expire instead of calling your last time out? It appears I'm the only person in the entire world who noticed this. Meaning I am either uniquely perceptive or quite insane!

Greg Papa and Cris Collinsworth underestimated Jared Goff from the first day he set foot on an NFL field. Ever since that day, they have bent over backwards, to a ridiculous extent, to find negative things to say about him in order to shore up their initial erroneous analysis. Admitting you were wrong is hard for everyone, even more so when it relates to how you earn your living.

It seems like Cris is slowly coming around. I have not listened to Greg Papa for a few years so I do not know where he currently stands on Goff.
