I know you're wondering why the hell is this guy posting about the UW rowing team. I'm a sucker for a good underdog sports movie. Based in 1936, I just loved hearing the "powerhouse Cal" rowing team. Competing for a chance to row in the Berlin Olympics. The best part of the movie is Cal putting up the 300.00 for UW to go to the Olympic. Biatch, we've owned you since 1936!

It's good this didn't happen in 2024, otherwise you'd have posters on here saying we should cut the sport!

I saw it a couple of weeks ago. Good movie. "This is from the Cal Bears." (when we hand 'em the check)

If you haven't read the book, upon which the movie is based, it is highly recommended.

My son just started rowing this past year. It's amazing how they get the kids to work their butts off... and love it! If you or your kids rowed and you have any advice for a newish rowing dad, PM me (I have gotten myself up to speed on the basics).
