If Cal played in a MWC-like conference, we wouldn't have to endure your personal slam towards me; Cal in such a western league would do a lot better. At this point, my predictions may be weak but not foolhardy like yours.

I can't argue with you, but Syracuse did get Ohio State's starting QB. Also, NC State acquired a proven passing QB transfer (Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year for the third consecutive season - a Sun Belt Conference record) with 5 years of experience and has five newly recruited WRs to throw to; I just don't think Cal's pass defense can handle this offensive onslaught (remember the recent TCU game?). As for the Miami,
they got Wazzu's wonder boy QB Ward and with a more talent available to work with Cal is in trouble (remember, too, its a Hurricane home game).

okay, Cal might go bowling with a 6-6 record. If Cal is healthy, Cal should beat Wake Forest. This game could be the Big Game replacement game. But, then again, the aforementioned presupposes that Cal gets by Syracuse and Miami unscathed; I find it unlikely that will happen given the QB additions previous cited for these schools. Cal would have to counter with a pretty good portal QB transfer who is better than Mendoza. Again, I can't see that happening.

Syracuse's new QB from Ohio State was not impressive, he was a Trent Dilfer game manager with great weapons. I'm not too worried about hin.

Cal might beat Miami at CMS. Cristobal will only be in his third year of that turnaround, but after having won the PAC-12 three times at Oregon with Wilcox's team finishing near or at the bottom, saying the reason Cal might win is because Justin Wilcox is a better HC than Mario Cristobal is just trolling.
