Interesting and odd. The 10 teams leaving the conference may still have to play in the same bowls games for 2 more years.

Give to Cal Legends!

https://calegends.com/donation/ Do it now. Text every Cal fan you know, give them the link, tell them how much you gave, and ask them to text every Cal fan they know and do the same.

How will the bowl revenues be divided?

Is anyone more reliable than Bleacher reporting this? I googled it and didn't see any. In December The Athletic said these bowls were likely going to re-partner following the exodus. What changed?

Please give to Cal Legends at https://calegends.com/donation/ and encourage everyone you know who loves Cal sports to do it too.

To be in the Top 1% of all NIL collectives we only need around 3% of alumni to give $100/mo. OR 6% to give $50/mo. Please help spread the word. "If we don't broaden this base we're dead." - Sebastabear

There was this tweet from a fairly reputable source:

This raises the possibility of Oregon State and/or Washington State being shut out of their Pac-12 bowls by ex-Pac-12 members. That doesn't seem right.

Probably because they expect the ACC to fold within 2 years, so why go to the trouble of setting up a bunch of new bowl matchups until they absolutely have to.

SMU, Stanford and UC Berkeley Bears would be the pac5 south.

Did you see the last bowl season? it was terrible, and it's going to get worse with the expanded playoff.

Point being, do bowls even matter anymore?

Terrible in what way? Bad match-ups, scores, attendance? I did not see many games. Yes I can see with taking the best 12 teams off the top there will be a real scramble to fill out bowl match ups. Unless some of those affected will bid to host Playoffs.

General apathy on all sides. Large numbers of players not playing, uninterested fanbases, quality of play, you name it, it was a problem. The exception were the teams in the playoff.

No one but brain dead FLorida State fans expects the ACC to fold within 2 years.

The bowls want to kick the can down the road two years so they can see how the 12 team playoff affects which conferences they want to affiliate with.

Do you want to be tied to a conference that gets four teams in the playoff, or a conference where you'll probably get their 2nd place team? Do you want to hitch your bowl to the SEC even if it means getting a 6-6 team every year?
