UC Berkeley's estimated tuition & fees are $16.5K for 2024-25 vs. UCLA's $15.1K, so Cal is charging 9% more than southern branch for the class that will enroll this coming fall. That seems like a fairly material discrepancy for the cost of a UC education at the 2 most prestigious UC campuses.
Then I looked at UCSD and its tuition and fees are $18.5K, so UCSD is charging its undergrads 12% more than Cal and 22% more than UCLA.
I understand that campus fees differ from school to school, but surprised it's by this much. I'm curious what drives the differences in campus-specific fees.
