Maybe this is also the same guy who was going on and on about Fresno State's academic prowess and how we should not look down at being in a conference with them.

I think it's Blueblood (under a new handle) who has been telling us all that Cal needed to be in Mountain West for the last few years….
The joke's on us.
I'm not so sure. The '49 reference got me. …now in hindsight a genius ploy and I got exactly into cal how?calumnus said:Alkiadt said:95bears said:

Gobears49, I'm going to assume you are very passionate about this topic, but not everyone else is. I'd consider doing what the master of sh*tposting on this site does, and post all your links in one long thread that many of us can set to ignore, and then the two of you can duke it out in your island of dreams and fantasies. Otherwise I think you will not last very long as a member here.Gobears49 said:

I'm surprised there is not a prominent GoBears69 or GoBears420. Not that I am making any suggestions. Or am I?cal83dls79 said:I'm not so sure. The '49 reference got me. …now in hindsight a genius ploy and I got exactly into cal how?calumnus said:Alkiadt said:95bears said:

It is not a "good" idea but it is the best that Oregon State and Washington State have (along with maintaining the PAC-12 conference).
For Cal, joining the ACC was a better idea. However, even if it wasn't, it is a done deal. We signed away our grant of rights until 2036. Maybe you can revisit this topic 10 years from now?

Going waaay back, Wayne Stewart, (who was 6'-7"), played defensive back and wide receiver for Cal from 1966-1968. He also played one year on the Basketball team. He then played about 4 years as a tight end for the New York Jets. Wayne recently passed away. Nice guy. RIP.
Not sure about your RB.

The Running Back was Brendan Bigelow.
4 carries for 160 yards and 2 touchdowns vs. Ohio State. Had a few knee surgeries. Had a cup of coffee with Tampa Bay.

Ok, were you thinking of Wes Howell?
Hoops player who decided to play football his senior year as a WR. Amazing catch in the 82' Big Game. Was drafted by the NY Jets as a tight end and briefly made the team IIRC.

If nothing else cal can get speed guys. Look at Oregon. Every one of those guys run and fast. I'm not suggesting "skeets" but we have no identity
I did leave out Ashtyn. But plodding comes to mind. I Google his name every 6 months or so and invariably end up on the jets injured reserve list..but he was like 4.2 guycalumnus said:cal83dls79 said:

We had a lot more emphasis on speed under Dykes, also Ashtyn was a walk-on.
