I haven't been in town to see any spring practices. Anyone there to give insights? Trench play is always tough to judge unless there's a complete stud standing out but are there any WRs or DBs winning most of their head-to-heads? What's the injury situation like, who's not available? What about the RB depth, do Cardwell, Williams-Thomas, and Calloway look healthy and ready to shoulder a load?

Offense still needs more time to develop. QB Mendoza will be starter. QB Rogers can run, but has difficulty passing in pocket. Transfer WR Merriweather from ND looking good, Transfer DL Keanaaina Strong, very hard to move, makes plays. DB's I think may be our weakest spot and OL after. Defense has dominated, but Offense will come around.

Please, for those of us alums not able to see the practices, what are the "accurate takes" that counter the previous "inaccurate takes"?

Thanks in advance ....

The official website calbears.com finally had a story on practice #7. Nothing on the other 6 practices despite posting over a hundred (?) stories on ther sports since Spring practice began.

Cal does a very poor job of promoting the football program that could be paying all the bills.

There are private sites like this one that pick up the slack for the dedicated/subscribers, but it should be Cal promoting the program, generating interest.

I don't know if they're idiots. They're making good money to do next to nothing. Why work hard if you're going to get big bucks anyway? We need cal people in charge. Hungry performers. Both at once would be ideal, cheaper and more productive than the **** sandwich we've been buying for the last 20 years.
